What customers say
★★★★★
“I am using this filter at home. We are having around 6 washing cycles a week (9kg load) and it just works perfectly! Easy to install, easy to use and easy to replace the cartridge.”
DDirk, GermanyVerified buyer★★★★★
“It's crazy how much plastic it collects and the new version 2.0 is even easier to use.”
AAnnachiara, ItalyVerified buyer★★★★★
“Its an extremely simple and easy to setup filter system that's pretty much plug and play. I feel a hell of a lot better about using my washing machine now.”
After installing the filter I initially had issues with my front-loader leaking a lot of water. A few adjustments later and I've now done 4 loads without any leaks. All seems to be working fine and I'm looking forward to seeing how much microplastic the filter catches. Will update in another 20 washes.

Good product
I've not been using the filter very long and it appears to be a good product. I have a feeling that the filters are not going to last very long so replacing them regularly is going to be an expensive job.
Hi Nicola, thank you for your honest feedback — we really appreciate you taking the time to share this.
We’re glad to hear you’re already seeing the value in preventing microfiber pollution. That’s exactly why we built PlanetCare.
You’re absolutely right that cartridge lifespan can vary. It depends on a few things: how often you wash, the types of fabrics (cotton vs synthetic), load size, and how the bypass is used.
We’re continuously working to make our system as efficient and cost-effective as possible — both for you and for the environment.
If you ever have questions about optimizing usage or getting the most out of your cartridges, feel free to reach out — we’re always happy to help.
Warmly,
Team PlanetCare

Playing our part
We can only take responsibility for our own actions; plastics have become such an enormous problem. Being able to remove some of the microfibres from our clothes is one thing we can do and I’m so happy to be given this means of filtering them out with PlanetCare’s washing machine filters. Apart from being easy to install, the most surprising and satisfying thing is the reasonable cost, and, even more, being able to return the used cartridges for free! I wish other planet-friendly products were as affordable.

AWESOME
I think this is the easiest way in the world to help sustain ocean life!
The company has worked with me so beautifully with every question I have had., Even replacing a part that I dropped and broke. Their care is not just limited to the planet! They care for and are very responsive to their customers!
I have just put a new system in place for myself to remember to change my filter. I have not been good about that. It is the easiest thing to do, but I just forget. The tightening tool they have is a must! It makes the process so easy!
I am beyond impressed and totally thrilled with both the company and the product!! Thank you for your concern and action on behalf of our planet.

Working well….
The filter is easy enough to fit despite my washing machine’s location. Early days yet but I’ve done a couple of loads in both bypass and filter modes. All seams fine with no leaks. It will be a few weeks until a filter change that I’ll be able to see the results.
You pay monthly instead of up front. After your first payment we send the filter, 13 cartridges and the installation kit. When your cartridges are full, order a pickup and we automatically send you a new box of 12 clean ones, with shipping free both ways.
Is the PlanetCare 2.0 filter compatible with my washing machine?
YES! Our filter works with all washing machine types: front-loaders, top-loaders, HE models, standard machines, and washer-dryer combos.
Note: With washer-dryer combos, cartridges may need replacing more often than the usual 30 washes due to higher workload.

How do I install the filter?
No plumber needed!
Installation is easier than assembling IKEA furniture - anyone can do it in about 10 minutes (plus 24 hours for the adhesive to set).
You only need the washing machine drain hose – no hot or cold water inlet connection is needed.
Watch our installation video (HERE) or download our quick-start guide (HERE) for step-by-step instructions. It's truly DIY-friendly!
Where should I install the filter? What if I don't have enough space?
The filter is incredibly flexible!
Install it outside your washing machine, connected to the drain hose. You can place it: • On the side or back of your washing machine • On a nearby cupboard or shelf • On the wall • On the floor • Under a sink • Anywhere your drain hose can reach Tight on space? No problem! The filter is compact, making it perfect for small laundry areas, closets, or tight corners.
See installation examples (HERE) or contact us at hello@planetcare.org - we love solving space challenges!
What are the filter dimensions?
Height × Width × Depth:
353 mm × 126 mm × 111 mm (13.9" × 4.96" × 4.37")
That's roughly the size of a large cereal box.
How much space do I need for installation?
• 13 cm (5") of space beside your washing machine • 60 cm (24") height clearance above the filter for comfortable cartridge changes
Don't have traditional installation space? Contact us! The filter works in virtually any position - floor, tucked in corners. Most laundry areas have more options than you'd think.
How does the return system (Closed Loop) work? Does it cost extra? Does it work everywhere?
Our Closed Loop system is completely free - postage is prepaid and works from all locations.
How it works: 1. Send used cartridges back in the provided packaging. 2. We clean and refurbish reusable parts. 3. Captured microfibers are recycled into insulation, concrete reinforcement, or furniture. 4. Nothing goes to landfills or incinerators!

So far so good!
We are very excited that we will be putting cleaner water back into the system. This was easy to install and we have had no problems. I hope that more people will take this important action and buy this filter. We have tried other filters and bags but nothing seemed to collect the fibers. Fingers crossed our used filter will be filled with them. Keep you posted :)

Nicely done!
I have previously used a filter from Filtrol which was large and hard to accomodate in my small laundry.
I started by using the self adhesive strip supplied with the unit to mount it on the machine. It didn't inspire confidence but it was convenient. Sure enough, 2 weeks latter the force developed during discharge blasted the unit off the side of the washer and it hit the tile floor and started leaking. I contacted customer service and the immediately sent out the replacement of the piece that was damaged N/C.
I have mounted the unit on the adjacent wall with screws. I am still over all chilled with the compact nature of this unit not to mention the customer service! I was contemplating putting the Filtrol unit in an adjacent cabinet but it would have been awkward at best with the 1" tubing leading in and out. A GREAT FIND.

Easy & Effective
The concept and product are brilliant and unbelievably easy to install. I feel I'm contributing to a sustainable environment with very little effort. I've had our filter since June 2024, and it has performed very well, though I'm still trying to figure out how to adjust the sensitivity so that the bypass indicator pops up when it's time to change the filter. We had gone 2 months, performing 8 small washes a week, and it still hadn't popped up. We changed the filter anyway after that much time.
I would highly recommend this product to everyone for its simplicity and what it accomplishes.
