Plastic for breakfast?

Although we don’t yet fully understand how microplastic pollution affects humans, the evidence is clear that marine life is being affected, with 100% of crustaceans in the deepest parts of our global oceans having been found to contain plastic fibres.

Microfibres are ending up in the diets of a range of animals in our oceans, which then build up throughout the food chain and which can cause issues ranging from digestive problems, liver damage hormone imbalance and infertility.

The marine life in our oceans doesn’t get a choice as to whether they ingest these microfibres or not—but we do get a choice as to how we tackle the issue, and indeed how many microfibres we are washing into our oceans each time we do a wash.

Introducing the PlanetCare Microfibre Filter, which can be easily attached to your washing machine and catches fibres of various sizes. A single PlanetCare Microfibre Filter cartridge can deal with a month's worth of washing in a typical household — all it requires is to replace the cartridge once a month and you will cut your fibre emissions by 90%.
